Bike Share Now Available at the Toronto Islands

New this summer! Residents and visitors can explore the Toronto Islands this summer in a fun, convenient and sustainable way with Bike Share Toronto! Rent bikes in four convenient locations: Ward’s Island, Centre Island, and Hanlan’s Point ferry docks and Hanlan’s Beach, and travel one of the most beautiful parks in the City!

Bike Share Toronto has expanded its network to the Toronto Islands – one of the city’s most iconic destinations and the single most requested location in the system. This expansion makes it easier for residents and visitors to explore the Islands in a fun, convenient and sustainable way. This pilot program has launched with four stations and 250 bicycles at the following convenient locations: Ward’s Island, Centre Island and Hanlan’s Point ferry docks as well as at Hanlan’s Beach.

Q: Can I use a mainland Bike Share bike on the island, or take an Island Bike back to the city? 

A: No, the systems are separate to ensure bike availability. Island Bikes must be docked at island stations and mainland bikes must be docked at mainland stations before using the ferry/water taxi.

There’s an "Island Bike" decal on the bike (usually between the handlebars) that identifies it as an "Island Bike" which must stay on the island. Docking one on the mainland may result in a relocation fee (up to $400) being charged to your account. Help keep the Island Bikes available for everyone! 

Q: Is the pricing different for Island Bikes? Do I need a special pass? 

A: No difference! Standard Bike Share Toronto pricing applies. You can use your existing membership or purchase passes like Pay As You Go or the Day Pass via the app.

The City of Toronto’s Identify ‘N Impact community grant helps promote youth engagement and community safety by providing up to $17K for youth-led (15-29) initiatives that help with violence prevention, mental health and well-being, skills development, arts and youth-friendly spaces. Applications are now open until September 15 at 12:00pm.
