Dixon Hall Gala 2023

I am delighted to share my recent experience attending the inspiring "Music for Life Gala" hosted by Dixon Hall to raise money for their Music School on November 23rd. It was truly an honour to be part of an event that celebrates the profound impact of music education on our community's youth.

The evening was nothing short of spectacular, as it brought together passionate supporters, talented musicians and dedicated community leaders under one roof. The ambiance was filled with joy, enthusiasm and an unwavering commitment to nurturing the musical talents of youth in our inner city communities.

Dixon Hall's Music School has been a beacon of artistic excellence, providing a safe and inclusive space for budding musicians to explore their creativity and develop invaluable skills. Through their programs, they offer access to music education, instruments and mentorship that empower our youth to reach their full potential.

Witnessing the performances by the students was a testament to the dedication and hard work invested by both the instructors and the learners themselves. Identify ‘N Impact Youth Grants - Apply by September 15!

The City of Toronto’s Identify ‘N Impact community grant helps promote youth engagement and community safety by providing up to $17K for youth-led (15-29) initiatives that help with violence prevention, mental health and well-being, skills development, arts and youth-friendly spaces. Applications are now open until September 15 at 12:00pm.

Biidaasige Park is Bigger, Better and more Beautiful!

Opened last year, Biidaasige Park is expanding with 10 more acres of public waterfront space at 238 Cherry Street on Ookwemin Minising. With new places to walk, cycle, paddle, gather, enjoy public art and take in skyline views, residents and visitors are invited to come celebrate during opening weekend on July 25 and 26. See what’s happening this weekend and beyond, including free guided kayak tours, walking tours and art-making workshops.
